Overview
Samara State University with a medical department was founded on January 1st, 1919. In 1930 Samara Medical Institute was opened (known as Kuibyshev Medical Institute later). In July 1993 the Institute was reorganised into Samara State Medical University.
Today, SamSMU is one of the largest and most authoritative universities in Russia and one of the best medical universities in our country

The tuition fee for the academic year 2022/23 is the following:
General medicine -
360 000 rub/per years
Dentistry- 340 000 rub/per year
Hotel Fees: 1 700 rub/per month
*The amounts of tuition fee and costs for accommodation are corrected annually in line with the inflation rate

Accomodation
Nowadays, the University has a well-organised, modern infrastructure for students' accomodation and education. There are 4 dormitories for students. For the accommodation of international students, a dormitory is located at the address Kievskaya st., 12. It is situated in the center of the city, in close proximity to academic buildings and Clinics of SamSMU. The students can use the public transport easily to get from the dormitory to any place in the city. The «Rules and regulations for students’ dormitory of SamSMU» is the document that describes the procedure of accommodation in the dormitory.
