Simplified procedure for obtaining citizenship by a foreign graduate
After graduation, a foreign citizen with Temporary residence permit (TRP) can apply for a residence permit in Russia.
At the same time, if earlier a residence permit was issued only to graduates of universities with a higher diploma, now all graduates received a residence permit after graduation

In January 2023, the provisions of new Federal Law on Education (№ 357-FZ dated July 14, 2022) came into force, according to which foreign students can apply for a temporary residence permit for the purpose
of obtaining education.
Benefits for international students of having RVPO
in Russia
• TRP allows applying for a residence permit of the Russian Federation;
• TRP is issued for the entire period of study and + 180 days after the end of the study period;
• TRP does not require annual confirmation of the status
of foreign citizens;
•TRP can be extended if the foreign citizen decides to continue their studies and/or transfer to another university
